Here's an interesting fact -

All of my free sheet music can be found here.  It ranges from licks to phrases to exercises.  It was designed with the saxophone in mind, but I'm sure all instrumentalists can benefit from them.  To accommodate all of the different keys, some of them may require the use of altissimo.  Most of these are designed or transposed to give you some improvisation ideas and to improve fingering technique.

Blue Train Lick in All Keys - John Coltrane
This includes a lick that John Coltrane played in his solo in every key, starting with the original key he himself played in.  The lick was played over an F7#9 chord.  Each following lick is a half step higher than the last, so the chord changes accordingly.

Diminished Licks in All Keys - Booker Ervin
This is a lick that is based on an improvised lick I heard Booker Ervin play in the song Private Income Blues.  It was played over the first chord of the chorus.  Each following lick is a half step higher than the last, so the chord changes accordingly.

Dorian Licks in All Keys
These are challenging licks that run off of the dorian scale.  It ascends the scale with arpeggios, goes into a sixteenth note run and ascends again, then descends the scale with arpeggios and goes into another sixteenth note run.  These are challenging licks.  They will test your fingers, embouchure, altissimo in some keys, and comprehension.
