Some Kids Messing Around

When I was outside of the grocery store today (while I was waiting for
my friend to come out), I heard some kids laughing loudly, so I turned
my head to see what was going on. I'm not sure what they were talking
about, but they changed their topic of discussion after that. They were
two girls, maybe around ten (though one was definitely older than the
other one). The older one told the younger one to keep an eye on the
bikes while she went into the store. The younger one said that she
didn't know how to; then, she said that she wouldn't be able to beat up
anyone if someone tried to take them. The older one then told her to
relax and went into the store. At that point, my friend came out of the
store and we left.
This event itself had no special impact on me, but it reminded me of when I was that age. I liked to mess around with my friends a lot. I was almost completely ignorant of politics, mathematics, metaphysics, philosophies, and music. To me, it was a time where everything was wonderful, strange, fun, etc. I thought about the incident on the way to my house some more, and it reminded me that we should all take the time to take in what we have now, where we're living, and what we're doing (whether it's good or bad) because our lives constantly change, and once we've moved on to the next phase in our lives, we'll have lost where we were forever...
