There's a song with this title that I've heard performed by Johnny
Griffin. It sounds pretty good. You can find it on youtube if you
search the title with his name. However, I was reading about American
history during the colonial era, and it turns out Wade in the Water was
an instructional song. During that time, slaves sang songs that seemed
innocent to the slave masters, but were actually songs that helped
people who wanted to escape to freedom. This song would basically tell
the captives that they can cover up their tracks if they travel through
rivers. That seemed pretty interesting. I wonder what other songs from
today are taken from old slave songs...

Today, I was shopping, and I noticed that butter was cheaper than cream.
Theoretically, it should be the other way around because more is done
to the butter than is done to the cream. There are additional steps to
creating butter than the cream. I thought for a bit and here's the
conclusion I've drawn - butter is purchased more than cream, which means
there is more competition with different brands of butter than cream.
Since there is less competition with cream, there is less compe... Continue reading...

I was watching the MDA telethon. The organization raises money for
Muscular Dystrophy Disorder (if you don't know what that is, look at
this webpage - http://www.mda.org/disease/). I encourage everyone to
donate at least a small amount. If ten thousand people donate one
dollar, that's ten thousand dollars. It costs $74 dollars for one
minute of research, according to the show. It's been going on for
decades, and they're still going. They haven't found a cure yet, but
they have ma... Continue reading...

When I was outside of the grocery store today (while I was waiting for
my friend to come out), I heard some kids laughing loudly, so I turned
my head to see what was going on. I'm not sure what they were talking
about, but they changed their topic of discussion after that. They were
two girls, maybe around ten (though one was definitely older than the
other one). The older one told the younger one to keep an eye on the
bikes while she went into the store. The younger one said that s... Continue reading...

Today, I was walking to my friend's house when I noticed a mother
walking with her little kid. The kid (who was maybe 10 years old), said
hi to someone walking by. The lady just looked at her and kept
walking. She didn't say anything. It was disgusting. That reminded me
of a theory I had thought of a while ago, so I decided that I would
intentionally greet everyone I walked by. I noticed that about half of
them reciprocated. Out of the ones that didn't, most of them just
walked ... Continue reading...

Today, I had to go to the store. Instead of driving, I decided I would
walk and take a detour into the woods. I took a few different paths I
already know of and found and took a path I'd never noticed before. As I
was trying to navigate and avoid the branches, twigs, thorns, and holes
in the ground, I suddenly noticed that there was trash everywhere.
Empty bottles, candy wrappers, articles of clothing, paper, and other
stuff was just lying around. There was a lot of it. What's rea... Continue reading...
